Writers' Birthday Calendar at 2011 Franschhoek Literary Festival
The African Writers' Birthday Calendar, one of AFAI's first publications, will be launched at the 2011 Franschhoek Literary Festival on Saturday14 May.
The African Writers’ Birthday Calendar features a short synopsis of best-known titles and most significant achievements and awards, as well as birth dates for some 300 African-born writers, playwrights and journalists. Each month features a quotation by twelve writers from twelve African countries. The publication was researched by Rachelle Greeff and Rucera Seethal.
The Calendar will be launched at an event at the upcoming Franschhoek Literary Festival on Saturday 14 May at 5.30pm. The launch will be held at Essence in Huguenot Square in Huguenot Street. To request an invitation, please email info@afai.org.za
The calendar will be on sale from Exclusive Books at the Franschhoek Literary Festival for the duration of the festival. Following the launch it will be available at R100 from the African Arts Institute, 25 Commercial Street, Cape Town 8001 or from email info@afai.org.za
